Do YOU want to be Freshly Pressed?

*Clarification: This post has a highly altruistic character*

1

Dear WordPress,

1

hi! My name is Ioanna and i would like to be Freshly Pressed! (pleeeeeeease)

pleeeeeeeeeease

I checked your support page about this issue, i read the whole post through, i swear. So now i am writing to let you know, in case you don’t already, i have all the qualifications needed to be your next freshly pressed girl! 😀

Let me show you…

1

1. Write unique content that’s free of bad stuff.

Of course i write unique content that’s free of bad stuff! Mostly. Except that one time, in Is it me???, when i was having a few bad (middle finger kinda bad) days. I was a bit hostile, i know… Just forget about that one post. Thank you.

2. Have a point of view.

I do have a few (points of view i mean). I don’t fill my readers with meaningless facts and stats. Ok, i might have done it this one time, when i posted about LinkedIn in Numbers, but you can scratch that out too.

3. Don’t be afraid of your voice.

Hmmm… That would be an issue. I sure have style but i am also sure you don’t want to hear me sing. May want to rethink that one…

4. Paint us a picture.

See, i can paint! => Weekly Photo Challenge: Make ArtI may have “forgotten” to insert a thumbnail (or any other image) in one of my posts… Yes, that was intentional… Won’t happen again… 😦

5. Make it easy on the eyes.

I am sure my content is well paragraphed, clear to read and not tiring at all. Fine, fine, my stickman was not very easy to see in those pictures but that wasn’t my fault! You should talk to www.drawastickman.com, they made the background grey!

6. Add relevant tags.

Add relevant what??? Awwwwwww tags!!!!! Those words we use as key words! Yes, yes, i know, i will…. Is “i want to be freshly pressed” a good tag??? I am putting it anyway….!

7. Write a headline we can’t ignore.

I am good at that! Sure, i often write something in the headline and imply something else within the post, like here, or write a headline no-one can understand what i mean, like The “huh?” experience! What do you mean that’s wrong??? I am being creative Mister!

8. Aim for typo-free content.

I thought my English was good. Yet again, i make typos when i write in Greek, my native language… And yes, i keep NOT writing the “i” capital when i am referring to myself. That is so NOT a typo, that’s my personal touch (on grammar)!

~*~

Thank you for taking all these into consideration, i look forward to hearing from you! I swear i won’t be bothering you sending emails, begging or threatening you.

I know you ‘ll do the right thing!
-just kidding-

You rock, Ioanna

  1. LOL, congratulations in advance on your Freshly Pressed! 😉

And I share your thoughts, good answers. There is no recipe for this. We all do our best and share our heart’s content. And that is good enough for me, even without the FP-award 🙂

    • hahahahaha! You got me Marion! 😀
Getting freshly pressed looks like a goal, you should do this and that to get there. Though, i shouldn’t be too hard on wordpress, their “freshly pressed” rules are understandable and SEO based…
The idea is to blog and have fun with it! 🙂

  2. Very funny & light! I’m just getting into blogging (still figuring out pingbacks and throwbacks..eeuuh trackbacks or whatever they are called)…but I’m having fun with it. So I like your reminder not to put on some kind of corset in order to get FP’d. 🙂

  3. Well, you “freshly pressed” my morning laugh out of me…. Love the way you inserted all the links to your previous posts plus big -eyed kitties and my all time fave of Sam Sheepdog get you big bonus points!

  4. You are amazing. I support you, your points and answers are so nice… I think there is not any key for this… and really I don’t know why and how they chose… At the beginning of my blogging life on WordPress, in the first days I took a place on Freshly Pressed page more than one, I think. But in that time I wasn’t known as today and also I haven’t visitors and followers… But now for a long time I am not on FP too… I really don’t know. But your post is amazing made me smile… Thank you, love, nia

    • Awwwwwwwwww thank you so much Nia!!!!!!! I am so happy my post made you smile! 🙂 🙂 🙂 That is even better than getting freshly pressed!!! I don’t think bloggers pay much attention to that…. Definitely it is exciting getting the news of being FP, but i don’t think it matters at all… Comments like yours matter the most! 🙂 Thanks again!

  5. Good luck, I’ll be looking for you!

While it wouldn’t hurt my feelings to get a little love from the folks at WordPress, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it either. I’d like to think my blog is “fresh press-able,” but then again, don’t we all? I am quite happy with my loyal and growing fan base.

You’ve got my vote, Go Ioanna!!

  6. What is “bad stuff”? I have a feeling that my blog has plenty. Oh well.
I think you should definitely be freshly pressed 🙂

if you don’t get a chance, i still think you’re still awesome!
    😀

  9. Good luck, but don’t put too much stock in being Freshly Pressed; some blogs have been Pressed TWO OR THREE times while others have been ignored for YEARS!
Just keep doing good work and let the rest take care of itself…

  10. Refreshing to see someone so full of fun with the ability to make others laugh-very witty-enjoyed this post!:-)Thk u for “liking” my “delicate” pic;-)
